Calluna vulgaris (common or broom Heather)is a bushy evergreen shrub. Calluna flowers from July to September and is an excellent (rock) garden plant, needing little care to thrive. True to its name, the branches were favoured for making brooms for sweeping. Calluna is a perfect ground cover plant that grows well in well-drained, slightly acidic soil and full sun. Plant in large groups for visual impact and most importantly for smothering pesky weeds. Also an excellent pot plant. Combines beautifully with Hydrangea s, Rhododendrons and Skimmia.This plant is delivered to you as a pot plant.
