Whether it is blossoming beautifully in spring, adorned with lush green foliage, come summer, or displaying spectacularly coloured leaves in autumn, this tree attracts everyone's attention. Visit our webshop where you can buy different varieties of apple tree online.

Planting apple trees

Plant an apple tree and enjoy crisp, sweet apples straight from your garden. When choosing a spot to plant your tree, make sure it is in a position that gets abundant sunlight. Apple trees love to bask in the sun, though they can also tolerate a semi-shaded location. Wherever you chose to plant your apple tree, make sure that it is out of the reach of strong winds.

Proper preparation before planting your tree is a must, and in this case, you should ensure that you have dug an adequately sized hole. Spread out the roots thoroughly inside the hole and make sure that the trunk of the tree clears ground level by at least 15 cm. Approximately 20 cm from the tree drive a post into the soil and then secure the trunk to it with a rubber band. This band ensures that this tree gets all the space it needs to grow but at the same time provides some support. The best time to plant your fruit tree is between November and March.

Apple tree pruning

Pruning your apple tree ensures it will maintain a beautiful shape and provide an abundant harvest of fruit year after year. To get the healthiest growth out of your tree, prune it twice yearly. The end of winter signals the time to cut away the old, thick and unproductive branches. Then once again in June, cut away the rapidly growing suckers that sprout from the base of the tree.
