The Delphinium (Larkspur)
The Delphinium (Larkspur) brightens up the garden with striking majestic flower spikes in purple, blue, pink and white. This wonderful border plant blossoms in the summer and sometimes in autumn, provided you cut the dead flowers in time. For the best results, sow Delphinium at the end of winter or very early in spring. Delphinium prefers rich soil and grows well both in full sun and in partial shade.
Delphinium - a hardy and beautiful dry flower
Delphinium is hardy, combines beautifully with a large variety of flowered plants and can also be dried for use in dried flower arrangements. To dry them, nip the flowers while they are still not fully opened, remove the leaf and hang them upside down to dry. You can use dried Delphinium flowers in a dried flower arrangement with other dried flowers, or use them in a wreath with dried roses.
