Eremurus brutus planting and care
Eremurus brutus is a low-maintenance perennial that truly comes into its own in larger gardens. Plants can reach heights of up to 2.5 metres. Plant Eremurus in the garden from autumn to early spring (October to April) in a sunny position with well-drained soil. Eremurus flowers for around three weeks and combines beautifully with roses, ornamental grasses, hardy geraniums and euphorbia. The tall flower spikes are also suitable for cutting. The plant is highly attractive to bees and butterflies. Eremurus will self-seed. Leave the faded flower spikes in place after flowering to encourage new seedlings in spring. In winter, apply a layer of compost to provide additional protection. Always read and follow the planting instructions supplied with your Eremurus bulbs for the best growing results. They contain all the information you need about planting depth, position and flowering time.
