- Versatile – suitable for sun and partial shade, for example beneath trees and shrubs.
Planting Instructions – Anemone blanda Mix
- Soak the tubers beforehand: Before planting, soak the dry Anemone blanda tubers in lukewarm water for approximately 3–4 hours. This allows them to absorb moisture and helps them get off to a better start after planting.
- Choose the right location: Plant the tubers in a sunny or partially shaded spot. Well-drained, humus-rich soil is ideal.
- Prepare the soil: Loosen the soil thoroughly and remove weeds and large stones. In heavy soil, you can add some compost or coarse sand to improve drainage.
- Planting depth: Plant the tubers approximately 5 cm deep.
- Planting distance: Leave approximately 5–8 cm between the tubers.
- Plant the tubers: After soaking, place the tubers in the soil and gently cover them with soil.
- Watering: Water thoroughly after planting so that the soil settles well around the tubers. After that, only water when the soil is very dry.
- After flowering: Allow the foliage to die back naturally after flowering. This allows the tubers to store nutrients for the next growing season.
- For several years: Leave the tubers in the ground after flowering. Anemone blanda is winter hardy and, under suitable conditions, can spread and bloom again every spring.
