Liatris - a particularly elegant perennial
The purple blue flowers of the Liatris, popularly known as the 'Blazing Star', are very popular with gardeners, partly due to the shape of its flowers. The flowers of the Liatris stand firmly and proud, with grass like leaves. It is because of its grace and shape that Liatris can be combined beautifully with a large number of perennials, annuals, flower bulbs and shrubs.

Liatris is commonly known by the gorgeous name 'blazing star', because of its beauty. The Liatris is a summer flowering bulb and a good cut flower that grows to between 60 to 150 centimetres in height and is an easy to care for garden plant that cannot stand frost. Liatris brings a lot of life to the garden and once sown, you will notice that the Liatris will become a much loved spot for bees and birds to visit.
