Thai basil has small leaves and purple stems. The leaves have a subtle liquorice or anise flavour with a hint of pepper. This kitchen garden herb is easy to grow. Plant Thai Basil seeds from March till July in seedling beds outdoors and transplant the seedlings after four weeks. Alternatively, sow the seeds directly in pots and thin out if needed.
